5

Recycling Collections in the future: All households should now have their new collection receptacles, the new service started this week. We should continue to monitor SITA’s performance in our areas and keep the Recycling Team at LBH informed. ALL

6

Sonic Recycler: the next one will be held at Watermans on Saturday 9 May 2009.  Luke Kirton has been asked if he would like to use the event for a Westplay children’s activity. No response as yet – send a reminder.  Doug reported that he has been talking to the Musical Museum people who have agreed to show some films and that Sonic Recycler ticket holders will be entitled to a reduced entrance fee. Future Events: Saturday May 16th from 12:00 to 4 pm is to be the Brentford May Fayre in St Paul’s Park, a traditional fair with lots of stalls and games, hopefully with Morris dancers and welly throwing amongst other things.  We will be there with the brag stall and ducks.  Do we need new questions? Discuss at next meeting. ALL

8

Young Green Voices: Volunteers have started their sessions at the schools.  Sarah still to arrange for St Paul’s and will let us know. New “What a Waste” game has been made showing the new containers for recycling. Simon and Kath have done a SPLENDID job – they are really professional cards!  Trialled at Lionel Road last week where they were very successful.  Sarah told us that she would now only be able to run two Saturday workshops so these will be 21 and 28 March.  Hopefully, she will be able to arrange after school sessions on the following Mondays for additional editing. We will have a session before sending copy to printers for final checking to ensure we have included all acknowledgements, thanks etc. SH

9

Leaflet Distribution: Discuss brag leaflet distribution at Brentford Station at future meeting. PR

10

Used Furniture etc: Hugh told us that, from time to time, residents of Brentford Dock have pieces of furniture and other household items which are no longer wanted and they are put in a place at the Dock for people to take away at no charge.  He will come back to us with more information so that we can circulate brag members.
