Minutes of last meeting agreed.

2

Apologies for Absence: Sarah Hoyle, Kathleen Richardson, , Andrew Dakers, Michelle Aspinall-Baker.  Paul Richens, Alex Rigge (LBH)

3

Noticeboard: Diana has drafted a letter to the head teachers of the schools involved in the Young Green Voices project inviting them to provide material for display in the noticeboard.  This could be once a year for each of the four schools. PH DL

4

Battery Box: The new regulations concerning batteries can be found at:http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2009/uksi_20090890_en_1 In a nutshell, battery retailers will be required to arrange for collection and safe disposal of used batteries.

5

Canal side Recycling: The last heard from LBH was that we should wait until SITA have resolved their teething troubles. Patti to remind Alex. PH LBH

6

Future Events: Brentford Festival 2009: Boston Manor Park on Sunday, 6 September, 11:00-5:30.  We will have our gazebo, table etc. Paul will bring the worms, Hugh will organise the ducks, LBH’s stall will be next to ours so we’ll be able to pick their brains! Cars have to be off site by 11:00 so we should meet by 10:30. ALL

7

AGM: November 10thwas agreed, 24th if that’s not practical.  As the Age Concern premises were so successful last year Rukmini has been asked to see if we can hire the rooms again.  Speakers were discussed; Douglas will try to ascertain if Nicholas Stern (Lord Stern of Brentford, Kt, FBA) would be interested. But we will certainly ask Natasha Epstein to give us an update on LBH’s Waste and Recycling programme and perhaps Barbara Reid, who is Lead Member for Environment, might be able to address the meeting. Another suggestion was for someone from Spacewaye to describe what goes on there and what happens to the waste delivered there. Any other recommendations welcome! ALL

8

Brentford Dock Macmillan Day: This is a fundraising event on behalf of Macmillan Nurses charity being held at Brentford Dock on 19th September. There will be a selection of stalls, bric a brac, bring and buy, crafts etc. etc. All are welcome to support a very worthy cause.
