Give and Take Day, Brentford Dock: In abeyance for the present, Hugh will continue to monitor.  HP

LBH Catering: Patti and Andrew will draft letter to send to David Adams before the next meeting. AD PH

Caterers Food Waste: Patti and Andrew will draft letter to LBH, David Adams and Councillors about recycling the food and packaging waste left over from public functions at the Civic Centre, again to be sent before the next meeting. AD PH

Brentford Dock Children’s Gardening Club: This is in abeyance for the moment due to change of personnel at Brentford Dock.  Hugh will continue to monitor. HP

Disposal of used cooking oil: Cindy was pleased to tell us that cooking oil recycling equipment has been installed at Space Waye and residents can now take their unwanted oil there to be made into fuel oil. ALL

New Homeowners Packs: Serious consideration will now be given to the updating of the website to include information for new residents and also the possibility of a hard copy to be printed for circulation.During the discussion which followed we agreed that we would all look for ideas from other areas and each person selected a local authority to search their website and look for other voluntary waste action groups with similar interests. ALL

Membership:  Suggestions/recommendations for draft should be submitted to without delay to Patti (pattihorsnell@freeuk.com), We will have a campaign to recruit more members and appeal to a more varied section of the community, not just concerned with recycling.  Letter to be drafted to ask if those on our membership list are still interested in brag and asking them to suggest what we might become involved in in the future. ALL

Brentford Community Council’s survey as part of the Brentford Sustainable Committee. It is hoped to have a result soon.     If you haven’t already, please go to the following: http://www.brentfordtw8.com/default.asp?section=info&page=communitycouncil004.htm and take part in the survey. ALL

Noticeboard: Virginia has extracted some publicity material from the Thames Water web site about what not to put down the drain. Cindy will photocopy these for us and that will be our next display.  Thank you, Virginia and Cindy.

Cycling: Hounslow Cycling Campaign: There will be regular meetings at the Express Tavern, Kew Bridge on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm.

Transition Town: About 30 people attended the very positive meeting which was held at 108 High Street on Tuesday 25th January. The next meeting will include a screening of the film “In Transition” on Tuesday 8th February at 7 pm at 108 High Street.  All are welcome and are advised to dress warmly and bring a seat or cushion. ALL

Friends of the Earth, Ealing: On Wednesday 16 February, Sarah Dickinson of West London Waste will be speaking about waste prevention in West London from 7.45 – 9.45 in the Rock Room, St John’s Church, Broomfield Place, off Mattock Lane, West Ealing W13 9LB. All are welcome. Refreshments available.

Friends of the Earth, National: On Saturday 19th March FOE will be promoting the halving of household waste by 2020. Brag will possibly participate in this event with, possible a presence at the venue to be established, perhaps Morrisons car park near the Brag noticeboard and the recycling area. Further information at a later date.

Hounslow Recycling Team: Cindy reported that initial food waste trials are being held in 5 schools in Hounslow. The results are most interesting and she will let us know more as time goes on.

Hounslow Recycling Team: Dates are being prepared for recycling Road shows and events in the Borough this spring. Watch this space!
