Minutes of Meeting held in the Directors Meeting Room,

1 Minutes of last meeting agreed.
2 Apologies for Absence: Michelle Aspinall-Baker, Paul Richens,
3 Annual General Meeting: We confirmed Tuesday, 22 November as we didn’t hear any objections to this date. Sarah Dickinson, WLWA has been invited to speak and Hugh will approach Mel Collins, Councillor for Brentford who is the Council’s spokesman on carbon pollution for his views and Naomi Hawkins, Head of the Recycling team will tell us about the Increasing Access to Recycling Facilities in Hounslow. ALL
4 Give and Take Day, Brentford Dock: In abeyance for the present.  However, West London Waste is considering the possibility of organising such an event, with perhaps a “swishing” event, too. They will keep us informed. F/up EARLY IN THE NEW YEAR
5 New Homeowners Packs:The Waste and Recycling Team have this in abeyance until 2012. LBH
6 BRAG web site: We invited Kath to update the site, which she has agreed to do.  Andrew had some more information about web software (WordPress) etc and it was agreed we would discuss active plans with Kath when she joins us at Green Drinks. PH KR CB AD
7 Noticeboard: The next promotion will be announcing the AGM and inviting people to attend. Patti reminded the committee that we could publicise the anti-plastic bag campaign which has had some publicity with a charge being levied in Wales. We should use this as a noticeboard feature at a future date. AR HP PH
8 Transition Town: We will invite representatives to attend the AGM. ALL

Hounslow Recycling Team: No outside events are planned by the Recycling Team at present.  New recycling calendars have recently been delivered.
10 Outer London Fund: £230,000 of this funding has been granted to Brentford. There is a very tight time schedule for using this and the High Street Steering Committee have had a very busy time endeavouring to use it as best possible. So far, Cultivate London will be establishing an “Edible Bed” in Market Square, an Italian Food Market is scheduled for Market Place on 18th & 19th November and a French Market on 9th  & 10thDecember. Live music and entertainment will play a prominent part. A contribution towards the provision and maintenance of the Christmas lights has been agreed and £40 – 50K is proposed for improvements to certain shop fronts on and near the High Street.  AD
