BRAG web site: Hugh has the details of funding for which we can apply to cover the cost of maintaining and improving the website. He and Patti will complete the application as soon as possible.Everyone please keep checking the website. There are probably still some out of date telephone numbers etc. and submit any updates and amendments to Kath as soon as possible. HP PH

5

Noticeboard: Hugh will change the current display. We really need some new ideas and posters for the noticeboard – please have a think! One of the suggestions is the dangers of plastic bags – Rukmini will research relevant websites, press etc., looking for articles/pictures etc that we can utilise. We would also like to make Brentford a “plastic bag free” area. We’d like ideas how to promote this recommendation. HP    RW

6

BRAG NEWSLETTER: We hope to be able to produce the next edition in time to publicise the AGM in November.  We hope that the cost of production and distribution could come from the funding we hope to obtain for the website work.

7

Compost Giveaway Day: This was held by LBH on 12 May. Feedback from Lyndon: “It went really well, we had 10 tonnes this year but we think we spoke to around 450 people by the end, when I think we had a quarter of a tonne left of compost.” He has sent us some photographs which we may use on the website.

8

Brentford picnic: Please keep in mind that, as Brentford Carnival 2012 has been cancelled, we will join the picnic which will take place in Boston Manor Park, all participants providing their own refreshments, on Sunday afternoon 2nd September.  Details to be finalised at the August meeting.

9

WLWA: Sarah Ellis arranged a training session for LFHW, specifically how to train up other people to get the messages out there (ie get some community champions in place) in May.  Kitty Tessler attended and has said she will be happy to feed back to us. We will invite her to a future meeting. We have not had results or feedback from WLWA about the Swishing Event which Sarah and Kate said they would let us have. Patti to send reminder. PH

10

“Tiffin Clubs”: Andrew would like to promote the use non disposable containers for take-away food from restaurants and fast food establishments.  Sami’s Spice, a new establishment on the High Street, will be approached with a view to starting up such a scheme.

11

Summer Solstice 2012 Party: Friday, June 22, 2012 at 5:00 PM – Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 7:00 AM (GMT): Summer Solstice 2012, Docking Station, High Street, Brentford. Further information and tickets from Andrew (andrew.dakers@blueyonder.co.uk)

12

AGM 2012: We made a provisional date of Tuesday 13 or Tuesday 20 November. We would be grateful for any information why either of these might not be suitable (i.e. clash with other local events, e.g. last year St Faith’s had their Christmas Fair, or a home football match etc.) We would also be pleased to hear if there is a particular subject any member would like to hear about or name a speaker who might be of interest to us.
