1 Minutes of last meeting agreed.
2 Apologies for Absence: Michelle Aspinall-Baker, Paul Richens,  Samantha Langton and Jenny Illman (Brentford Dock Management), Douglas Benford, Catharine Browne
3 Give and Take Day, Brentford Dock: Remains in abeyance  
4 BRAG web site: Andrew provided his input and Hugh and Patti will complete the application for the grant during the few days. HP PH
5 Noticeboard: We have some new posters promoting real nappies which will be displayed soon. We really need some new material for the noticeboard – one suggestion is the dangers of plastic bags – Rukmini continuing to research relevant websites, press etc., looking for articles/pictures etc that we can utilise. We should make this a BRAG project – we would like to make Brentford a “plastic bag free” area so any ideas to help promote this recommendation will be most welcome. HP    RW
6 BRAG NEWSLETTER: We plan to be able to produce the next edition in time to publicise the AGM in November.  Successful result of the award application will confirm this.
7 Brentford picnic: Reminder: for everyone to join the picnic which will take place in Boston Manor Park, all participants providing their own refreshments, on Sunday afternoon 2nd September.  Meet somewhere near the House from about 2:00. ALL
8 WLWA: The draft response to Kitty was agreed. Patti to send asap. PH
9 “Tiffin Clubs”: Andrew would like to promote the use non disposable containers for take-away food from restaurants and fast food establishments.  Sami’s Spice, a new establishment on the High Street, has been approached with a view to starting up such a scheme and Andrew is following. Anticipate further developmentsby next meeting. AD
10 AGM 2012: We confirmed the date of Tuesday 13 November, having ascertained that there isn’t a clash with other local events, e.g. St Faith’s Christmas Fair or a home football match. We invited Paul Richens to be our Key speaker and he has accepted.  Cindy Gardener has also agreed to bring us up to date with the developments in the Borough’s Waste Management. ALL
11 Local events: Wednesday 29 August at 7.30: Film show“Benda Bilili”, the true story of disabled Congolese street musicians at George IV pub, 185 High Road, Chiswick W4 2DR. All welcome. Pay what you can afford.Saturday 29 September 1 – 10 pm Wonderful Day Community event, St Paul’s Church, Brentford.  Free entry. Stalls for local organisations and craft workers 1-6pm. No charge if providing free activities or an exhibition. £10 for organisations with information only (can sell publications), £20 for selling locally made crafts. Live music show in the evening.

HAFTRA (Hounslow Tenants Association) Tenants Day, Saturday 8 September; 08:00 to 4:30: Community Fair, Saturday 22 September; 11:00 to 4:00:

Nappy Natter Sessions, 3:00 to 5:00 every third Thursday in the month at Brentford Children’s Centre, North Road, Brentford, a chance for mums to get together to chat about everything, including nappies!
