BRAG web site: Acknowledgement of application for Awards for All received and circulated. PH
Noticeboard: We have some new posters promoting composters which will be displayed soon. We still need some new material and ideas for the noticeboard – a continuing suggestion is the excessive use of plastic bags – Rukmini had come to an inspirational standstill, so after this was thrown open for discussion, several ideas were forthcoming.  We would really like to make this a BRAG project – Brentford to be a plastic bag free area – so what we might be able to do is produce some cotton bags with a “no plastic bag” message, (with perhaps  “Brentford is Brilliant” on the reverse?). We could have an award scheme for successful participating retailers, publicise in the local press, websites etc. Cindy is looking into the bag issue, Stefan said he might contribute some graphic art work.  Further discussion next meeting ALL
BRAG NEWSLETTER: As agreed, we should produce the next edition in time to publicise the AGM in November.  Successful result of the award application will confirm this, however we should begin preparations. Items for inclusion should be sent to Patti asap or brought to the next meeting. PH AD
Brentford picnic: Sunday afternoon 2nd September.  Not too many attended but the few Brag members joined with Friends of the Earth on their Bee Walk. ALL
“Tiffin Clubs”: Andrew would like to promote the use non disposable containers for take-away food from restaurants and fast food establishments.  Sami’s Spice, a new establishment on the High Street, has been approached with a view to starting up such a scheme and Andrew is following.  Since Andrew is on holiday we will await further developments at future meeting. AD
