BRAG web site: Hugh continues to look out for awards or grants for which we can apply. He and Patti will try to find something from the latest information from Hounslow Voluntary Sector Support Service. HP PH

Noticeboard: Cindy brought along some new background paper for the notice board and Hugh, again, will add a later poster from the current Hounslow campaign: “I recycle because . . .  “ ALL

BRAG NEWSLETTER: David Eales apologised for not being able to attend the meeting but confirmed his offer of help towards financing the next issue in return for a half page promoting London Bike Hub. Hugh will search for a source of funding and a source of paper and printing for a small edition, 5,000 copies of one duplexed A4 sheet, and we hope to be able to produce the Spring edition in March. Some material for the next edition has already been produced and we should also prepare to feature an article on our cotton bag promoting a ban on plastic bags in Brentford. Wendy volunteered at the last meeting to check for environmentally friendly sources for cotton bags so we will await her findings.Other items for inclusion are suggestions from visitors to the recent LBH Road shows: “I recycle because . . . .” and advise about the Tidy Town Service, which will collect up to five items for the minimum fee, so a good opportunity to get together with neighbours and friends to share in the service.

BRENTFORD FESTIVAL: Will definitely be held on Sunday, 1st September, in Blondin Park, which is accessible from Boston Manor Road, Northfield Avenue and Windmill Road. Further information will be forthcoming, please also watch the TW8 website.

WEEE Recycling – Electrical Waste Disposal: The Council Recycling Team is delighted to announce that five WEEE banks have been installed in Brentford. They can be found at: Morrisons; Clayponds Gardens; Wicksteed House (Green Dragon Lane); Charlton House (Albany Road); Brentford Dock.  This will be of great advantage to flat dwellers who do not have the facility of Green Boxes for the disposal of their small electrical items.
