Minutes of Meeting held in the Directors’ Meeting Room,
Brentford Dock
on Tuesday 4 June 2013


Attending: Patti Horsnell, Hugh Picton, Rukmini West, Catharine Browne, Virginia Fassnidge, Wendy Mackenzie, Cindy Gardener, LBH.





Minutes of last meeting agreed.


Apologies for Absence: Michelle Aspinall-Baker, Douglas Benford, Andrew Dakers, Kath Richardson, Paul Richens, Samantha Langton  (Brentford Dock Management)


Noticeboard: Cindy will let us have some publicity material concerning the Wheelie Bin trial for display in the noticeboard.


BRAG NEWSLETTER: Delivery of the 5,000 we had printed has been completed. Thanks to Julia Quilliam. Sam Langton, Brentford Dock Management, asked that Douglas be thanked for sending the cheque. DB


Cotton Bag Project: We have now established a price for 250 cotton bags, long handles, printed one colour on one side, £295.  Words under the BRAG logo agreed, “No plastic init”.  So far, no news about the Grant being approved but in the meantime, could the Treasurer let us know if we have that sum available so that we could confirm the order. DB and ALL


BRENTFORD FESTIVAL: Will definitely be held on Sunday, 1st September, in Blondin Park, which is accessible from Boston Manor Road, Northfield Avenue and Windmill Road. Our stand will be adjacent to West London Waste (LBH will not have an official stand) and Home Start.  This will mean we can all cooperate, borrow children’s games from Home Start and publicity material from WLW.  We agreed that BRAG would promote composting and wormeries in addition to our usual  – Recycle, repair, reuse, reduce. ALL


BRENTFORD MARKET: This continues to be held in Market Place every Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. with great success. We have agreed to take a stall, to share with Friends of the Earth, and we came up with 23rd June. Unfortunately, there is no vacancy that day so we will have to agree another day. PH VF



FUNDING: Still awaiting result of our grant application. PH DB


National Recycle Week: this is the week commencing 17th June and the national campaign is concentrating on recycling small electrical items. No event is planned in Brentford but to remind everyone, these items can be placed in green boxes and in skips at various centres, including Morrisons in Brentford. ALL


MARIE CURIE Charity Event: from 2:00pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday 29th June in the Residents Club Room at Brentford Dock there will be a High Tea, fee £5 per head.  Well worth our support tell your friends. ALL
