Southall Transition, working with The Rubbish Diet, will hold a Bhangra Disco Soup event on 24 October in Southall to raise awareness of food waste. Disco Soup is international grassroots movement that started in Germany and where people prepare vegetables that would otherwise be wasted in a party-like atmosphere. But because the event will take place in Southall, it will have a bhangra spin.
The aim of Bhangra Disco Soup is to raise awareness of the problem of food waste and the need to think about what food we throw away. It also aims to bring together the community so that good food being thrown away by local retailers might be direct to local charitable groups that could use it. At the same time, it aims to be a fun event that brings the community together on an important issue.
This event will take place from 4pm to 8pm at
St John’s Community Hall,
Havelock Rd
Southall, UB2 4DH
Entry is free.
