Minutes of Meeting held in the Toll House, Brentford Lock
on Tuesday 5th July 2016

1 Minutes of last meeting agreed.
2 Apologies for absence: Michelle Aspinall-Baker, Paul Richens, Andrew Dakers, Virginia Fassnidge, Catharine Browne, Douglas Benford, Joanna de Casey-Ireland, Chelsea Edwards,  Sam Thomas, Canal and River Trust.
3 Noticeboard and questions for LBHList of questions which was sent to Councillors last month was also taken up personally with Steve Curran at his last surgery on 18th June. He said he would speak to the Recycling Team and arrange for someone to contact us.  Nothing heard yet, we will follow up at his next surgery if nothing heard by then. PH HP
4 Marie Curie coffee mornings: These continue to be held successfully every month in the Brentford Dock club room to raise funds. The next one will be on Monday 18th July from 10:30 to 12:30.  Excellent cakes!  Please attend if you can; a very good cause to support. ALL
5 Soup lunches: Also held at Brentford Dock club room on the 4th Thursday of the month from 1:00 to 2:30, next one 28th July. Very good value, homemade soup and bread £3.
6 Where does recycling go?: When we hear from the recycling team at Hounslow we shall endeavour to make arrangements to visit a recycling centre.   LBH website has quite comprehensive information about recycling and recycled items. PH ALL
7 Recycling in flats: We have still heard nothing about recycling facilities at Brook Court and Braemar Court in Brook Road South.  We have also heard of another location, small block with very inadequate recycling facilities, in  Downside Walk. PH and Cttee
8 Future events: We have been invited to participate at the Ivybridge Fun Day on 16th July from 12:00 till 4:00 pm. We have accepted, and Chelsea came up with some ideas for children   to test their knowledge of recycling. Wendy has offered to make some bean bags which can be written on and then placed/thrown into appropriate receptacles.  Hugh will arrange for prizes for “winners”. We can also have bags for painting. (These activities can be replicated at Brentford Festival.) ACTIONS: Paul to get out one of the BRAG banners; Douglas to organise BRAG bags and paints and stencils; Patti provide raffle tickets for prize winners to exchange for prizes; receptacles for Wendy’s bean bags.

Julie Brooker has invited us to participate in the Clayponds Estate Fun Day, which will be held on Sunday 7th August from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.  Details to be discussed at our next meeting on 2nd August. Who will be available?

9 Brentford Festival: Reminder: this will be held on Sunday 4th September in Blondin Park, as last year.  Please put this date in your diaries and invite as many people as possible to attend! ALL
