2 Apologies for Absence: Michelle Aspinall-Baker, Paul Richens, Andrew Dakers, Kath Richardson, Hugh Picton,  Virginia Fassnidge, Wendy Mackenzie, Sam Thomas, Canal and River Trust
3 Noticeboard: We understand from the community liaison officer at Morrisons, Brentford, that Hounslow Council were responsible for removing the recycling skips when the site was closed in July 2014 and our noticeboard disappeared.  We will now go back to Steve Curran and see what can be done to provide a new noticeboard for BRAG. PH HP
4 Marie Curie Coffee Mornings: These continue to be held every month in the Brentford Dock club room to raise funds. The next one will be on Monday 19th June from 10:30 to 12:30.   All are welcome! ALL
5 Soup Lunches: Also held at Brentford Dock club room on the 4th Thursday of every month from 1:00 to 2:30, next one 22nd June. Very good value, tasty homemade soup and bread – and cakes! – all for £3! ALL
6 Future project: It was proposed that we should to encourage more young people in the benefits of recycling etc.  Douglas and Patti will attend the Interclimate Network’s Sustainability Summit on 30th June.  There will be representatives from secondary schools across London so, hopefully, we will be able to pick their brains to further our cause!

The pan-London/European schemes minuted previously are still under discussion – no further developments so far, but we will continue to hold in abeyance.  Ian will keep us informed.

7 Restart Project: Cathja, on Brentford High Street (next door to the Magpie!), are still in the process of preparing a room for us to use and it’s not ready yet.  Small electrical/electronic equipment which are faulty or not working well may be taken to a Restart Party when organised, probably in early summer.  Notices will be posted in the library and BRAG and TW8 websites.  West London Waste (WLWA) is also hoping to work with other local groups to run a network of Restart parties. To find out more, look at https://therestartproject.org/RestartParty/ ALL
8 Brentford Festival, Sunday 3rd September 2017: this event will be in Blondin Park again and we will participate.  Our presence is always appreciated but it is a lot of work for just a few volunteers so more help would be appreciated.  It is very likely that Paul will not be able to attend with the wormery so we must think of other topics.  One which we discussed at length is the prevalence of plastic pollution so please think of display material we can use.  Nicola has produced a poster which we will use.  More ideas, please. ALL
9 Disability Network, Hounslow: This is the organisation we visited last year at their garden in Isleworth.  They do tremendous work and should be supported.  REMINDER: They are holding a Fundraising Meal and Entertainment on Sunday 25th June from 12:00 to 4:45 at Kingsway Banqueting, 270 Bath Road, Hounslow, TW4 7DF, for all ages with an Indian meal and live music.  Tickets are £12 and must be reserved in advance. Email penny@disabilitynetworkhounslow.org or text Ashi Dhillon, 07403 134747. Cheques should be sent to DNH Bell Road, Hounslow TW3 3NX. All profits will go to Disability Network, Hounslow, Charity number 1097010. ALL
10 Cultivate London Events: on Tuesday 20th June from 18:00 to 22:00 they will hold a Summer Solstice Cocktail Party at The Salopian Garden: 689 London Road, TW7 4ES. They are also holding an Open Day at the Salopian Garden, 689 London Road, TW7 4ES.  from 12:00 to 16:00 on Sunday 11th June.

11 Thanks: Before the meeting closed, Sara was thanked for her generous hospitality.  We were very well entertained with home produced refreshments and then went into the garden to meet the chickens!  Sara invited us again for the June meeting 2018 with the hope that the weather would be kinder and we could take advantage of the garden!

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday 4th July 2017
7pm at the Toll House, Brentford Lock.
