Apologies for Absence: Paul Richens, Andrew Dakers, Catharine Browne, Kath Richardson, Sam Thomas, Canal and River Trust
Noticeboard: We understand from the community liaison officer at Morrisons, Brentford, that Hounslow Council were responsible for removing the recycling skips when the site was closed in July 2014 and our noticeboard disappeared.  We will now go back to Steve Curran and see what can be done to provide a new noticeboard for BRAG.  BRING FORWARD AFTER BRENTFORD FESTIVAL. PH HP
Marie Curie Coffee Mornings: These continue to be held every month in the Brentford Dock club room to raise funds. The next one will be on Monday 21ST August from 10:30 to 12:30.   All are welcome! ALL
Soup Lunches: Also held at Brentford Dock club room on the 4th Thursday of every month from 1:00 to 2:30, next one 31st August. Very good value, tasty homemade soup and bread – and cakes! – all for £3! ALL
Restart Project: Cathja, on Brentford High Street (next door to the Magpie!), have finished preparing the room for this project to use. (Small electrical/electronic items of equipment which are faulty or not working properly may be taken to a Restart Party when organised, probably after the end of September.)  Virginia will contact West London Waste (WLWA) who are also hoping to work with other local groups to run a network of Restart parties. To find out more, look at https://therestartproject.org/RestartParty/ Information notices will be posted in the library and on BRAG and TW8 websites when arranged. ALL
Brentford Festival, Sunday 3rd September 2017: this event will be in Blondin Park again and we will have a stand.  Our presence is valuable but it is a lot of work for just a few volunteers so if anyone is available to help, even for a short time, this would be appreciated.  Paul is not bringing the wormery this year so we will be promoting something which is top of a lot of environmentalists’ lists, the prevalence of plastic waste pollution. The recycling of plastics and reduction in usage is now a major priority.  The plan is to fill the stall with information demonstrating/displaying the disastrous results of waste plastic – especially in the oceans, rivers and seas and the effects on wildlife. ALL
Disability Network, Hounslow: This is the organisation we visited last year at their garden in Isleworth.  They are a charitable organisation who do tremendous work. The garden, in Quakers Lane next to the Green School, off London Road, is open to visitors on Tuesdays between 12:00 and 2:00 – please contact Virginia for further information, vfassnidge@yahoo.co.uk ALL

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday 5th September 2017
