Join Thames21, in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), on Tuesday, 3 April, in cleaning up the Thames in Hammersmith. The event will last from 11.45am to 2.30pm.
Volunteers will clean up a section of the Thames foreshore in Hammersmith to remove the litter that accumulates from the tidal motion of the river.
During the session, Thames21 will also be recording the litter found along a 100-metre stretch in order to collect data. This data will be used to help map out the journey plastic litter takes from source to sea.
Thames21 will provide all the equipment. It is advisable to wear clothes that you won’t mind getting muddy. Light refreshments will be provided, and under-16s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Meet on the south side of Hammersmith bridge, on the Thames Path. The nearest road access is via Riverview Gardens, SW13 9EA.
