5 Soup Lunches: Also held at Brentford Dock club room on the 4th Thursday of every month from 1:00 to 2:30, next one 24th May. Tasty, healthy homemade soup, bread and cake! ALL
6 Restart Project:   We are planning for the next event to be held on Sunday 3rd or Sunday 17th June at Cathja on the High Street.  Date will be confirmed and information notices will be posted in the library and on the BRAG and TW8 websites. Further information about the Restart Project may be found at: https://therestartproject.org/RestartParty/ ALL VF
7 Brentford Dock Bi-Monthly lectures: The next one of these very interesting events will be held in the Residents Club Room at 14:30 on Thursday 17th May.  The subject is Living with the Silent Enemy – Diabetes, and the speaker will be the Head of Hounslow Diabetes UK.
8 Waste Not Festival: Cathja have suggested a “Waste not” festival to be held in Brentford Town Square this summer, probably at the Market on Sunday 29th July.   The idea is to bring together groups and individuals who can “create something from waste, share how “waste” can be viewed as useful, repair and recycle, upcycle, educate, enlighten, engage”. BRAG has agreed to participate so can you please think of topics for us to recommend and/or publicise. ALL
9 Southall Lane Recycling Centre: We have expressed our disappointment to LBH for not being able to attend the Open Day last month due to such short notice and asking for another chance.  No reply has yet been received but Guy Lambert has suggested that we communicate with him – after the election! – and he will see if he can help.  It would be particularly useful if we have visited this facility before the Waste Not event to be held in July. PH
10 Brentford Festival 2018: This will be held as usual on the first Sunday in September i.e. 2nd, in Blondin Park. We should decide if we would like to take part – we have taken a stand every year since it began – and if there is a particular subject we should promote.  Any suggestions for an appropriate activity for children? ALL
11 Disability Network Hounslow: Members of the community are invited to join them this summer in their work on their allotment in the garden of the Friends Meeting House in Isleworth, or just to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. They are hoping to get crowd funding for this – more details soon. VF

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday 5th June 2018
7pm at the Toll House, Brentford Lock.
