|6||Restart Project: The second event was held on Sunday 1st July at Cathja on the High Street. Residents and BRAG and FoE members were invited to bring small items of electrical/electronic equipment which were faulty or not working properly and our knowledgeable volunteers would see if they could fix them.
It was pretty busy most of the time. Ten people brought eleven items plus there were two items from the charity shop Cathja’s Kitchen Table where the party was held. Items included lamps, vacuum cleaners, laptop, headphones, CD player/radios, water heater.
4 items were fixed on the spot; 5 items needed new parts etc, advice given; 1 item advised to get specialist service/part replacement; 3 items fault was not able to be repaired (2 still usable as clock radios although broken CD transport unrepairable). A more detailed report is on the BRAG website.
|7||Waste Not Festival: A “Waste Not” festival, promoted by Cathja and supported by other volunteer groups, will be held in Brentford Town Square at the Market on Sunday 29th July. The idea is to bring together groups and individuals who can “create something from waste, share how “waste” can be viewed as useful, repair and recycle, upcycle, educate, enlighten, engage”. BRAG has agreed to participate so we would appreciate as much support (i.e. attendance!) as possible! It promises to be an entertaining and educational event!||ALL|
