Restart Project: These events have proved popular and will continue to be arranged.  The next one in Brentford will not now be until next year, depending on Cathja finding new premises since they have to move due to the redevelopment of the south side of Brentford High Street. We would like to find an alternative venue and we will investigate inexpensive/free accommodation for a half day to hold another event.   Information on this subject and other restart parties may be found at: https://therestartproject.org/RestartParty/ VF PH
Street Care Team, Litter bins: the emptying of these and the problems regarding recyclable items were discussed again. It is of great concern, both to the environment and the fund-raising possibilities for local authorities, that there are no facilities locally to collect the valuable aluminium cans. Now that the Christmas holiday season is over, it may be a fruitful exercise to invite someone from Hounslow Highways to come to a future meeting to discuss this. Patti to ask Guy Lambert if he can arrange or advise who to invite. PH
General recycling: The previous item sparked a lengthy discussion about general recycling from Christmas cards with glitter (encourage people not to buy them?) to TerraCycle initiatives (TerraCycle is Eliminating the Idea of Waste® by recycling the “non-recyclable.” Whether it’s coffee capsules, pet food pouches from your home, pens from a school, or plastic gloves from a manufacturing facility, TerraCycle can collect and recycle almost any form of waste.) See the very comprehensive, inspiring website: https://www.terracycle.co.uk/en-GB/ ALL
The Climate Tsunami: An evening of poetry, a film, music and conversation about Climate Change will be held on Saturday 26th January from 7:00 – 9:30 at The Polygon, St Mary’s Church, St Mary’s Road, Ealing W5 5RH. Admission is free but donations would be appreciated.  Just turn up or contact wlr@postle.net
Marie Curie Coffee Mornings: These continue to be held every month in the Brentford Dock club room to raise funds for Marie Curie. The next one will be on Monday 21st January from 10:30 to 12:30.   The Brentford Dock Residents Association have also started producing brunches on the first Wednesday in the month from 11:00 am. First one of the new year would have been Wednesday 2nd January, next one will be Wednesday 6th February, all are welcome! ALL
