TerraCycle helps you recycle ‘non-recyclables’

TerraCycle partners with manufacturers to recycle the “non-recyclable” – items that are usually consigned to landfill or incineration.  In some cases product packaging can be returned to shops, but it’s also possible for volunteers to set up a drop-off point and earn money for charity. Sustainable Threads: Festival for Sustainable Fashion

Sustainable Threads’ Festival of Sustainable Fashion will be held on Saturday, 24 November, from 11am to 4pm at Hackney House in east London.

The event, funded by the North London Waste Authority, is a celebration of fashion, creativity and recyclability. On offer will be a repair cafe and The Big Swish Clothes Swap hosted by Betsy’s Closet Swap Shop. There will also be a Sustainable Threads panel discussion on the ground floor, plus entertainment, refreshments and eco stalls promoting how we can make a difference to our environment. Petition for the creation of a UK-wide waste and recycling system

A petition has been launched calling on the UK government to create a UK-wide waste and recycling system.

If the petition reaches 10,000 signatures, the government will respond to it; if it reaches 100,000, it will be considered for debate in Parliament. The deadline for signing the petition is 24 January 2019.

Have you say on street cleaning in Hounslow this Thursday

At a time of unprecedented increases in fly tipping and litter, Hounslow Council is finding it challenging to meet its commitment to making the borough cleaner and greener.

It has therefore organised a workshop on street cleaning this coming Thursday, 25 October (full details below), to seek views and input on people’s experiences and expectations both with council services and through its partner, Hounslow Highways, with the aim of improving the look and feel of the borough. Join us on 14 November at BRAG’s AGM

BRAG will hold its 19th annual general meeting on Wednesday, 14 November, at 7pm in the Residents’ Club Room, Brentford Dock, Brentford TW8 H2U.

The AGM will consist of a review of BRAG’s activities in the past year, including our work at community events, followed by several presentations and a question-and-answer session.
