Want to know more about how to avoid food waste?
Then come along on Thursday, 25 February, to Ready, Steady…Love Food, a community event in Southall sponsored by West London Waste and FareShare London, an organisation that saves good food destined for waste and sends it to charities and community groups, who transform it into nutritious meals for vulnerable people.
The aim of the event is to introduce people to the West London-wide campaign to help families and communities reduce the amount of food they throw away, and to link community groups to FareShare so they can access surplus supermarket food.<! >The evening will include presentations, activities and cooking demonstrations to help you make the most of your food.
You will also be able to
- test your food know-how
- taste delicious food made from the most commonly thrown-away food items
- exchange ideas on how to save money by reducing food waste
- help community groups supporting vulnerable people to access food from FareShare.
