NOTE: We have been informed that the evenings are fully booked, but you might still be interested in reading about the events.
The Southall Lane recycling centre is holding two open evenings in October – Thursday the 4th and Monday the 8th — that offer residents of Hounslow an opportunity to visit the new facility, which is not normally open to the public.
There will be two sessions each evening at either 5.30pm or 6.30pm, and each session will last approximately 45 minutes. Parking is available on site. Booking is essential – see links at end of article.
Since November 2017, most of Hounslow’s household recycling has gone to this new, state-of-the-art facility, where it is sorted and dispatched to reprocessors. The facility is on track to process more than 16,000 tonnes in its first year.
The facility enables Hounslow to manage the borough’s recyclable materials in a way that respects the environment. It also enables the borough to benefit from revenues paid by reprocessors for the sorted waste. This money can then be put to good use in supporting front-line services.
Book for Thursday, October 4th here, and Monday, October 8th here.
