Hounslow Council to support Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean

This spring, Keep Britain Tidy will be holding the country’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign, for the second year running.

Building on the success of last year, Hounslow Council will again be supporting  Keep Britain Tidy’s national Great British Spring Clean campaign #GBSpringClean.

Last year, with your help Hounslow Council organised over 50 events, more than any other London borough.  The clean-ups made a real difference to our parks, streets and community spaces, with over 500 bags of litter being collected – 25 per cent of which was suitable for recycling in the borough.

Want to get involved?

Whether it’s an alleyway, or a neglected part of your local park, near your home or work, Register your clean-up at www.keepbritaintidy.org  Once registered, spread the word and get your friends, colleagues, family and neighbours involved too.

If you just want to come along to an existing clean-up that has already been organised, then you can join any that are already registered as open events.

Get your free equipment! Tell Hounslow Council about the clean-up event you’re planning by emailing Cleaner.Greener@hounslow.gov.uk. The Council will give you free bags, lend you litter pickers and arrange to collect your rubbish and recycling after your clean-up.

Take photos of your clean up, with details of those involved, and Hounslow Council will share your efforts on social media to inspire others to get involved as well. Please send photos and details to Cleaner.Greener@hounslow.gov.uk. Please check those featuring in the photos are happy for images to be made public.
